About Disdain in The Old Republic

Disdain's Old Republic branch was created in August of 2011 as part of the pre-launch guild program. Many of our members participated in the beta program and beta weekends through out the fall of 2011 and after much debate a vote was taken and Sith won out as the preferred faction. We decided on signing up for a PvE server to avoid unnecessary grieifing and on December 10th, we were assigned to the Shii-Cho server. The guild was officially created in-game on December 15th as part of the headstart program for pre-orders.

As of May 21st 2012, Disdain Gaming has officially withdrawn from The Old Republic. The announcement post cites a lack of content for maximum level players, mismanagement of game resources by Bioware and an overall failure to deliver on key aspects of MMO systems (LFG, LFR, Battlegroups, etc).

Republic guild: "Disdain's Rejects"

Though Disdain is a Sith guild, we maintain a child guild called <Disdain's Rejects> for republic characters on Shii-Cho. This guild does not actively recruit and will only accept members who are already a part of it's main guild. It's purpose is solely to provide a centralized meeting area for members who wish to play rebel characters on occasion. It is unlikely that this guild will ever raid, or recruit, but it's members are strictly binded by the same rules and policies of it's parent guild and are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

Global Leadership

Disdain has taken a simplified approach to guild structure and leadership in The Old Republic. There is no officers, raider ranks or recruiting managers. Everyone is a member of equal footing with Teco and Mondren holding the legacy guild leader positions. We've come to believe that with the addition of more and more officers, we end up with more complicated problems and become unable to handle support requests in a timely manner. With the streamlined administrative system, there's a much prompter turn around with member issues and less confusion over who to turn to with issues or suggestions.

The only players with elevated privileges are Dekion and Monak who have the ability to invite players and alternate characters to the guild. This is provided merely as a convenience to existing members looking to tag up alternate characters. If there ever is a need to contact Disdain regarding our members or their behavior, please use the contact form to reach the guild's senior management.
